Privacy and terms
What is kept, and the terms
Short version: reading needs no account, very little is stored about people who make one, none of it is sold, and what you write stays yours.
If you only read
No account, and no cookie of ours. If you switch to the light theme, that choice is kept in your own browser. The host keeps ordinary server logs for security. The picture on a story is loaded from the publisher that owns it, so that publisher can see it was requested.
Where visitor counting is switched on, Google Analytics tells us how many people read each page. It sets its own cookies and gives us totals, not names. There are no advertising trackers, and the site never asks to connect a wallet.
If you make an account
- Your name and email, and a hash of your password. The password itself is never stored.
- One sign-in cookie, which lasts up to 30 days and is removed when you sign out.
- What you send: your notes, and any message the editor returned with them.
- Drafts stay in your own browser until you send them.
If you write to us
Messages from the contact and advertising forms are stored so we can answer them, and are emailed to the editors.
What it is used for
To run your account, read your writing and reply to you. Personal details are not sold, rented or traded. To have your account and everything tied to it deleted, send a message.
Terms for readers
- Headlines and excerpts belong to the publishers credited beside them. The full articles are theirs, and so is the right to reuse them.
- Token News Network is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or paid by any exchange, token project or regulator named on it. Their names and tickers appear only to say what the news is about.
- Nothing here is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and nothing is an offer or an invitation to buy or sell any token. You alone answer for what you do with your money.
- Stories are gathered by rule from other outlets. We do not check every claim in them and do not promise that any of it is accurate, complete or current.
- You must be 18 or over to make an account.
Terms for writers
- You keep the copyright in what you write. By sending it you let us publish it, edit it for length and clarity, and point readers to it.
- You confirm that it is your own work, that it has not run elsewhere and that it infringes nobody's rights.
- You must say in the text if you hold, or are paid by, the token or project you write about.
- We may turn a note down, or take one down later, for instance if it proves wrong or turns out to be promotion.
